Dominion Technology Fund Scholarship


Dominion Energy is committed to establishing and reinforcing an inclusive, creative and productive environment in which each employee feels accepted and respected and believes it is possible to achieve his or her full potential. With that in mind, we are pleased to collaborate with Communities In Schools of Richmond (CIS) to offer the Dominion Technology Fund Scholarship.

The intent of the $2,000 Scholarship Award is to increase educational opportunities for Richmond Public School students by providing additional funding for students pursuing a degree in a technology related field. The degree obtained may include certifications, associates and bachelors in science or arts.

This scholarship is available to students who have worked in connection with CIS throughout their K-12 journey, including participants in the Carver Promise initiative or students attending a Performance Learning Center.

Program Guidelines & Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have a cumulative 2.8 GPA
Performance Learning Center applicants must have a PLC-GPA of 2.0
Applicants must be graduating senior and have worked with CIS anytime K-12
Scholarship awards will be subject to receipt of the applicant’s final grades and proof of enrollment as a full-time student for the current academic year at a certified credential training program or an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

CIS is accepting applications at through May 15, 2020. A panel will review all applications and scholarship recipients will be announced.

Applications will not be accepted after May 31.

Applications are complete and valid when we have received all of the following:

Completed Dominion Technology Fund Scholarship Application
High school transcript (official copy)
One letter of recommendation
200- to 300-word essay identified in the application

For the purpose of this fund, Dominion broadly views the scope of technology to encompass a wide range or career fields and occupations—bioscience, engineering, environmental studies, information systems, and telecommunications.
