How You Can Help

How You Can HelpCommunities In Schools of Richmond offers several ways to support student development.  Volunteers, donations and support from the business community are integral to our coordination efforts.  We offer an array of ways to contribute.  Here are a few:

Volunteer
Serve as a mentor, tutor, classroom assistant, or volunteer during special events.  Our schools welcome caring adults to spend time with the students.  Communities In Schools conducts an extensive background check on each volunteer, prior to entering the schools.  If you would like volunteer in more of a planning capacity, we invite you to join the school’s Citizens Advisory Group (CAG).

Donations
In-kind donations of service, supplies, and monetary donations assist us in achieving our goals of overall student development.  Donations directly benefit the students, and CIS coordinates how donations are managed and recognized.

Support
Communities In Schools of Richmond coordinates school-based corporate initiatives for our CIS network schools.  Corporations, local businesses and faith-based groups serve as valuable assets to the schools in various ways including employee volunteering initiatives, special event projects, and financial contributions.  We would like to discuss how your business or group can get involved.
